My Lovely Friend

I love dogs.

I love small little yorkies,

And I love tall great danes.

Fluffy and short,

With small little legs that climb me.

All warm and small,

And a pink belly to kiss.

He tends to the sick,

Guarding day and night.

Sluggish and worn,

Uninterested in all, but

He waits for me at the door.

Hungry or tired,

Bored and excited.

He sleeps on my lap.

Belly up and snoring,

Curled up and sighing.

Little keeps me here.

Little but biting my toes,

And licking my face.
