Renata Santiago is a young, aspiring writer based in Miami, Florida. Santiago was raised in the rich culture of Miami, immersed in her family's culture. Brought up by Cuban parents, she inherited the Spanish language and culture- something you may often find in her writing. Currently pursuing her B.A. in English Creative Writing, Santiago hopes that her writing will reach many and resonate with them over shared human experiences. Being a first-generation Latina woman, she often writes about what it means to exist at that intersection. Her writing also speaks to her personal struggles with mental health. Santiago expresses herself through a variety of genres, focusing on creative writing and poetry. Developing her talents from a spoken word background, she will occasionally return to these roots as well.
